PacSun.com – $10 off coupon – No minimum value

December 31st, 2008

I received notification of this great coupon through an RSS feed I subscribe to and I wanted to share it.  PacSun.com doesn’t release awesome coupons very often, so if you’re a fan of the store then this might be a good opportunity that you shouldn’t pass up.  If you enter the code dechot10 on checkout, you’ll receive $10 off of your order no matter the price.  Technically, you could purchase an item for $9.99, use the $10 off code, and only have to pay for shipping ($5).  If you are a fan of PacSun and often purchase item from the online store, use the code to take $10 off of your total bill.  Why not?  Enjoy!

After Christmas Sale – Old Navy and More!

December 27th, 2008

As I was scrubbing the web for some sweet post-Christmas sales, I came across a killer Old Navy sale.  The sale is only online but could reap discounts up to 75% on select items.  I checked out the guys section and they seem to have a pretty descent selection, especially with t-shirts and polos.  Check out the sale at Old Navy’s home page and also by clicking here.

Also, Restaurant.com is having a great deal on gift certificates.  Normally, the $25 gift certificates they sell are around $10 but for a limited time only they can be purchased for $2.  That’s a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.  The restaurants listed vary from place to place, but these can act as great gifts for any time of the year, even if you wanted to start shopping for the 2009 holiday season.  If you’d like to purchase any of the gift certificates, visit the Restaurant.com website and enter the promo code of CELEBRATE when checking out.  Act fast…the offer expires 12/31/2008!

UPDATE:  Minutes after first posting this article, I cam across some other sweet deals that I would like to let everyone know about.  They are as follows: Read more…

Various Updates

December 24th, 2008

I’ve done a few updates to the site over the last two days.  I’ve updated the list of retail specific clearance and bargain sites on the Deals/Bargains page.  I’ll continue to do so as I come across more sites and will attempt to grow each section of the page, not just the retailer specific section.  I’ve also updated the Efficiency Tip #1 post to include a link to purchase an egg timer (or “kitchen timer” as everyone else calls it) from Amazon.  As the holidays progress, I’ll be posting the term papers to the site.  Once again, if anyone has any papers they would liek to submit, please email me to let me know.

Deal/Bargain Page Added

December 20th, 2008

I’m accumulating a list of various deal and bargain websites for easy viewing.  On the page, I’ve created categories for deal websites, coupon and promo code sites, and retailer-specific websites.  I will constantly be updating the list as time goes on and will continue to highlight certain websites more specifically in blog posts.  Check out the page on the right hand side or by clicking here.

Efficiency Strategy #1: Egg Timer

December 16th, 2008

Earlier in the year, I struggled with managing my time.  My time management woes caused me to oversleep, overburden myself, and be late for appointments.  More importantly, I wasn’t feeling productive at the end of each day.  Instead of accomplishing the many things that I needed to, I would often get caught up in one thing and not be able to get everything done.  I needed a quick and easy strategy to make sure I wasn’t overworking myself or causing myself to be lazy.  I began to formulate a strategy to allot myself certain amounts of time to do various tasks, whether it is school work, website updates, or reading.  In order to do this and to keep to my goal, I purchased a simple egg timer from Target.  For each item that I need to complete, I set the egg timer for a certain amount of time and once the timer goes off, I immediately stop what I am doing and move onto the next item.  This strategy has allowed me to get more done in a day and to feel as if I am progressing, not standing still.  If you’re having time management problems or are overworking yourself to the point of exhaustion, consider using an egg timer to keep track of time and accomplish a lot more with your day.

UPDATE: As per a reader’s suggestion, here is a link to purchase an egg timer.

Blogger for Today.com

December 15th, 2008

I wanted to let everyone know that I applied to be a blogger at Today.com, a paid blogging site, and I was approved.  My blog is devoted specifically to football news and analysis.  Bloggers get $1 a day per post that is over 100 words (limit one paid post per day) and pennies on the dollar for blog traffic.  It’s not enough to live off of, but it is extra money here and there.  If you’d like more information on joining the Today.com team, email me and I’ll send you a link/information.  Check out my blog, Football Fan, here.

Book Review: John Adams by David McCullough

December 14th, 2008

I recently finished reading John Adams by David McCullough, a Pulitzer Prize winning author, and was thoroughly impressed by the book as a whole.  The book is written as a biography of the life of the President John Adams, encompassing everything from his birth to his death.  John Adams also details many critical aspects of Adams’ life such as his family, his love for books, and his public service career to the United States of America.  The book is also the foundation of the HBO mini-series of the same name which received acclaim from critics and viewers alike. Site Review: FlaccoFacts.com

December 11th, 2008

Being that I am from the Baltimore area, I’m naturally a Ravens fan.  I am throughly impressed with their level of play this year and more impressed with the scoring ability of the offense.  The ability that the Ravens have demonstrated on offense all year is something that Ravens fans have not seen in a long time.  A majority of the credit goes to Joe Flacco, the rookie quarterback out of the University of Delaware.  Much to the surprise of many analysts, players, and fans, Flacco has performed well in his rookie year and could be a franchise player in the Baltimore organization.  Flacco has even picked up a fan base that uses “Wacko 4 Flacco” to express their feelings about the rookie.
